Layout share >> Studio Calico Sugar Rush

Good morning!

I'm in the process of cleaning up the pile of layouts on my desk and getting them blogged, so I have a few more layouts to share.  These were made the the February 2014 Studio Calico kit "Sugar Rush".  I did use sketches for both of these.

For the first one, I used the following sketch:

And here is my take on the sketch:

I used a sketch for my next layout, also:

And here is my take on the sketch:

Thanks for looking!!

Layout >> Mo & Tom

Hi all!  The layout I have to share with you is based on a sketch (since those have been really working for me lately).

Today's sketch:

I'm trying to finish up my Studio Calico Sugar Rush kit so I thought this would be a great sketch to use to help me use up some scraps.  Grid designs are great for using up scraps!

I also got to take my DSLR out for a little more practice.

These October Afternoon frames weren't part of the kit, but I think they coordinate really well.  I was really happy to be able to use them!

A great way to use up strips of paper is to put them together in a woven grid, which worked well for the square element I was going for.

I keep a dish of various die cuts on my desk so that I remember to use them.  I left these white so that it didn't  compete too much with the pattern behind them.

I've grown to enjoy using large clusters of the same embellishment for impact, so these Studio Calico Essentials stars worked well to bring life to the subtle pattern behind them.

Thanks so much for looking!

Layout >> Let's Go Wedding Cake Tasting

This layout was a little different from the others.  This one is my entry for a little scrappy game I've been playing over on the Studio Calico forums.  A scrappy version of the Telephone Game.  The first person chooses a layout from the gallery and scrap lifts it.  Then she sends hers to the next person who scrap lifts that.  Then she sends hers on and so forth.  We aren't officially revealing our layouts yet, but I couldn't wait.  I really like how mine turned out!

Phew!!!  Finally done blogging.  I promise to be better at this in the future!!

Layout >> Bow Ties are Cool

For this layout I gave myself a task: take a favorite thing from the past few layouts and do them all on this one.  So what do I do first?  Of course I start with a sketch!

Then I combined my favorite things from the past few layouts:  vellum, using a whole package of an embellishment, using lots of different alpha stickers, and stitching on my layout.

Here's the final result:

Layout >> You Are Lovely

Yay!!!!  I'm back!!  I've been having serious scrapper's block for the last few weeks.  I've done a few layouts before this one but they've all been scraplifted so I don't feel right sharing them.

This is the first layout I have to share for the Studio Calico Sugar Rush scrapbook kit.  I was excited to try a new ribbon technique!  I'm even more excited that it turned out really well!!

I also got a new daylight light bulb and a new cell phone so I've been experimenting with the camera.  I have to say I'm really pleased.  I do need to work on positioning the light better, though.  Some of the pictures are a little darker than I intended them to be.

Hopefully this is the end of my scrapper's block.  It has been an infuriating and disappointing few weeks!!
